My notebook from 1986 states the following: “Tall narrow tower, very ruined, west wall and part of south/southwest wall standing in dangerous condition. Finely dressed stonework. Quite late. Thin walls, large windows, one window (part) remains, hooded moulding over. Beside stream. Extensive ruins of bawn and possibly a barbican. 5 storey, windows in line aided structural failure. Curved bawn NW with cross loops. Height of bawn wall 12 feet.”
