Ballymacady Castle, Co. Tipperary

Ballymacady Castle, County Tipperary, in August 1987.
It has a large footprint 46’ x 35’ with 5’6” thick walls.
It is unusual in having inverted Vs on each face, to allow those shooting from the shot holes, in the apex of the loops, to command the whole wall.
It was in ruins circa 1840, according to the old OSI maps.
