Bansha Castle, Co. Tipperary

Bansha Castle, County Tipperary, in August 1987.
An original and unusual conversion of a ruined circular tower house, dating from 1954 (that is, the conversion!). The line between the new and the old stone work can be clearly seen in this photograph.
To the rear, there was some evidence of external render of the castle, which had survived under earth, that had accumulated against the wall.
