Moycarky/Moycarkey Castle, County Tipperary, in April 1987.
Unfortunately my notes for Moycarky, have not survived.
The tower house is set in a large bawn, which is still used to house cattle. The bawn has diagonally opposite flanker towers with shot holes.
Conrad Cairns believed that the top floor may have been a later addition.
There used to be a sheela na gig set into the south wall.
