Lisfinny Castle, County Waterford, in June 1986.
A Fitzgerald castle, built from sandstone conglomerate.
A barrel vault over the ground floor. Entrance on the south wall via steps. Access to the “basement” by mural steps which come to a sudden stop. Perhaps a wooden ladder was used as well.
Spiral stairs. Good example of a garderobe. Very damp at time of visit. Later work done to the tower. Fireplaces added.
