Burncourt Castle, Co. Tipperary

Burncourt Castle, in County Tipperary, in 1986.
An H shaped fortified house, built and destroyed (burnt, thus its name) in the 1640s. It may or may not have been completely finished at the time of its destruction.
As it is an Irish National Monument, it is disappointing to note that there has been some deterioration in the intervening years.
