Ballyragget Castle, County Kilkenny, with the Castle Studies Group. In May 1992 they held a conference in Kilkenny.
Many well known names from the castellated world were involved: David Newman Johnson, Paddy Friel, Ben Murtagh , Con Manning, David Sweetman, Terry Barry and John Bradley. Paul Kerrigan and Peter and Gillian Somerville Large attended.
In the photo above David Newman Johnson is seen lecturing the group at one of the entrances to the very fine bawn that surrounds Ballyragget Castle.
